This year, Philam Plans has been blessed to know two wonderful children, Kurt Russel Mancayo and Diana Buenaobra, who despite difficult circumstances has held on to their dreams and brought inspiration to all which moved Philam Plans to award these amazing kids education plans that will ensure them of a bright future they deserve. Here are their stories…

Kurt Russel Mancayo – No Ordinary Boy

At a young age of seven, where most kids play after school, Kurt heads home to her paralyzed mother and attend to her needs. At seven years old, Kurt has learned to do household chores and even man their small store to help the family. For seven years now Kurt’s mom has been paralyzed after giving birth to her loving son.

His father, a hard-working taxi driver, has shared that Kurt loves to study and dreams of becoming a doctor someday to help the sick especially his mom. But he has also admitted that because of his wife’s condition and lack in finances his unsure if he could provide for Kurt’s college education.

Philam Plans first heard Kurt’s life on the award winning show “Wish Ko Lang!” of channel 7 and was truly moved by this young boy’s inspiring story. Philam Plans visited Kurt and surprised him and his family by granting him a four-year Pangako education plan that would ensure him of a quality education.

Dianna Buenaobra – A great mind
with a greater heart

This October, another child’s dream of going to college was granted through the same show.

If you look in to Diana’s credentials – a diligent student, excelled in all subjects, awarded first honors in elementary, loved by teachers and respected by students, you know she’s gifted.

But this 11 year-old high school student of Ramon Magsaysay High School Manila has achieved all these despite poverty and her living conditions. Diana lives with her family right beneath a bridge in Moriones and shares this cramped quarters with her three siblings, her mom, who washes clothes for a living and her dad, a carpenter.

A true optimist, Diana has never viewed poverty as an obstacle to succeed in life and firmly believes that attaining college education would be the key to uplift their lives. It is this child’s dream and hope that moved Philam Plans, the country leading education plan provider, to extend our help and support for this extraordinary girl. Philam Plans together with Philam Asset Management pledged to sponsor a college education fund of P100,000 to this inspiring young lady.

Sharing her knowledge to everyone, Diana reads books to younger kids like her and helps them with their homework, in preparation maybe for her goal of becoming a teacher or even a principal someday.
